After finishing his senior year, Dekker was selected as the Gatorade Player of the Year in Wisconsin. Before him, no one had led his institution to a WIAA state championship. He made 35 appearances as a freshman for the Wisconsin Badgers in collegiate football. During his sophomore season, coaches also selected him to the Second Team All-Big Ten.
Dekker was sidelined for the entirety of the 2015 NBA Summer League due to a back injury he sustained after his signing with the Houston Rockets. He established a new personal best on December 14, 2016, scoring 19 points in a 132–98 victory over the Sacramento Kings.
Furthermore, he made his debut in a game against the Memphis Grizzlies and emerged victorious 119–95. Dekker was acquired by the Los Angeles Clippers on June 28, 2017. Additionally, he participated in the 2012 United States under-18 national team.
In 2018, following the publication of a contentious white pride speech on Twitter, Dekker found himself entangled in a scandalous situation. Furthermore, no rumors regarding his life or career exist at this time.
