In 2013, Marta Chávarri reportedly slipped in the bathroom of her house and hit her face against the sink. The domestic accident became the turning point of her life.
The impact caused severe injuries to her eye and jaw, which required several operations and a titanium plate.
The terrible accident left the gorgeous lady with physical and psychological consequences, making her withdraw even more from public life.
According to reports, the journalist also suffered some deformity and even some facial paralysis as a result of the 2013 incident.
However, in an interview with Vanitatis magazine, Marta said she was happy and calm with her life.
“I dedicate myself to painting and being with the people I love. I have stopped worrying about things that are not important to me,” she told the magazine.
The accident left her with severe injuries and a long and painful recovery. The Spanish socialite reportedly suffered from depression. However, she never opened up about it.
Marta Chávarri last appeared in front of the cameras on 14 June when she visited her son’s home to see her then-newborn grandchild.
She was gracious yet uneasy when the press tried photographing and interviewing her about her life.
Before that, Marta was seen at her son, Álvaro Falcó’s wedding to Isabelle Junot in April 2022. The event was full of familiar faces, but there were hardly any pictures of Chavarri.
In 2020, reporters visited her house to inquire why she was absent at her ex’s funeral, Fernando Falcó. But they failed to get an update.
