Sonny Side’s career journey started when he moved to South Korea at the age of 24 to work as an English teacher.
While there, he also learned about film production. Before venturing into YouTube, he held various odd jobs.
Having a fascination for unusual foods in Western culture Sonny moved to Korea and later to Vietnam where he hired a cameraman to document and showcase less-known foods.
Sonny Side had an opportunity to host a travel show called Crazy Delicious. Although the show’s pilot aired in early 2018.
His work has taken him to over 25 countries, including Iran, making his channel the first US-owned YouTube channel to receive filming access there.
In terms of recognition, Sonny Side and his Best Ever Food Review Show team received the 2020 Webby Award for People’s Voice: Viral Video of The Year and the 2020 Webby Official Honourree for Food & Drink.
