She was fascinated by Asian culture and food from a young age. She wished to educate the world about Asian cuisine and culture. Chang was inspired to pursue a career in the food industry by her parents.
She also works as an equity sales associate for Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong. Chang also appeared as the US head of Assouline, a French advertising agency founded by Matin and Prosper Assouline that published luxury books. She also appeared as the CEO of the fashion house, Vivienne Tam.
Later, she founded her own company, Luckyrice. This venture (book) is primarily intended to promote Asian culture throughout the world. The media and events company organized a weeklong Asian food and culture festival that featured celebrity chefs such as Davis Chang and Jean-Georges Vongerichten. The festival drew over 65000 people and generated over $1 million in revenue.
