Stokes embarked on his musical career at the tender age of 12, participating in various talent contests and ensemble performances. Early in Stokes’s career, his mother sparked his interest in the entertainment industry.
Stokes, as his career progressed, became acquainted with the boy band phenomenon Immature from the 1990s. In the course of his collaboration with Immature, Stokes met Mila J, a performer, rapper, and vocalist.
After being subsequently signed by Stokes, Mila J, two of her group members, and Gyrl, secured a contract with the MCA label in 1995.
After Gyrl disbanded, Mila J joined Dame Four, an additional female ensemble formed by Stokes. Mila J was contracted as a solo act to Motown in 2006, under the supervision of music impresario Sylvia Rhone, to produce Split Personality, her debut solo album.
Nevertheless, creative differences prevented the album from being released. Late in 2012, Mila J entered the recording studio and released a five-track mixtape.
The compilation went viral, amassing more than 600,000 downloads and generating considerable interest among industry insiders.
Kevin was discovered by Stokes in 2001 when he was 13 years old. By introducing Kevin to the boy band NLT and molding him into a competent performer, Stokes paved the way for him to land the starring role of Artie Abrams on the successful Fox television series Glee.
In addition to being intimately involved in the creative process alongside his artists, Stokes is also a highly skilled songwriter. Writing and producing for Bobby Brown, Omarion, and Marques Houston, he has also contributed to songs for the renowned groups Destiny’s Child, B2K, BBD, and Immature.

Stokes, unquestionably one of the most influential figures in R&B music, has engaged in a wide range of creative endeavors that transcend his musical origins.
He briefly entered the clothing industry through the high-end apparel line Christopher Brian. Christopher Brian Apparel appointed Kim Kardashian as their spokesmodel for her first multimillion-dollar modeling contract, which Stokes secured for the colossal reality TV star.
E! aired a news special about Chris Stokes and his clothing line that featured ultra-sultry, seductive, and tasteful images of Kim Kardashian topless while wearing only the CB denim.
Since its inception, Chris Stokes has served as the line’s creative director; it embodies his vision of exquisite, opulent apparel for both genders.
At the Hard Rock Hotel, hundreds of luminaries gathered for the launch of Body English, which featured a special performance by powerhouse producer Timbaland. A year after commencing, Stokes signed a profitable agreement to distribute the well-liked line.
“Someone Help Me,” a 2007 horror film directed by Stokes, featured Omarion and Marques Houston.
