Dick, the spouse of Helen, is a former professional football player as well as a sports commentator and actor. He played center and linebacker for the University of Illinois Fighting Illini football team from 1962 to 1964.
Dick was awarded the Player of the Year by the American Football Coaches Association and The Sporting News. Inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1983.
Moreover, in 2009, the NFL deemed him the most dangerous tackler. When he retired from football, Dickey launched his acting career.
