Her love of sports grew after she was told she had heart arrhythmia. She claimed in an interview with the Gwinnett Daily Post that swimming improved her lung capacity and respiratory control, which allowed her to control her heart rate. Also, she subsequently started weight training in order to get better at swimming, but as soon as she started powerlifting, she fell in love with it. She was able to lift 275 pounds (124.7 kg) on her first try in powerlifting, at which point she knew she had found her calling. She also began practicing yoga, cross-training, and endurance exercises.

Despite the fact that she fell in love with the sport, her family disapproved of powerlifting. She said in an interview with The Athlete Daily that they believed the sport was only for men and that they would make lousy powerlifters out of women. She dismissed her family’s objections and said that following her passion was fulfilling. Also, she outperformed both male and female opponents in the Best Lifting competition at the 2015 Iron Beast Invitational in Gainesville, Georgia. She set records for the squat (280 pounds, 127 kilograms), deadlift (156.49 kilograms), and bench press (170 pounds, 77 kilograms) with the American Powerlifting Committee (APC) (77.11kgs).

She not only broke a record, but she also became the first female winner of the overall best lifter title in APC history. She subsequently set two more APC Nationals world records, deadlifting 385 pounds (174.63 kilograms) and squatting 396 pounds in the 165.35-pound (75-kilogram) weight class (179.62 kilograms). Despite ripping her hamstring, she miraculously kept breaking records in the International Powerlifting League (IPL), setting marks for the 396-pound deadlift, the 401.5-pound squat, and the 984.28-pound total. After competing in powerlifting competitions for two years, breaking records, and winning the IPL’s overall best lifter title, the charity was looking for new challenges.

At the gym, she made friends with four strongmen who were competing, and they encouraged her to train as a strongwoman. Despite the initial challenge, she participated in her first strongwoman competition in the Lee Haney Games in 2016. She came in first and earned a spot in the Navy and NAS Nationals. She joined the United States Powerlifting Association (USPA) in March 2016, and at the Iron Coast Classic, she took first place in the Women’s Open 181.88-pound (82.5-kilogram) weight class. Recruitment staff for NBC’s Titan Games found her as her Instagram following increased. When Charity initially got a message from the recruiters, she was dubious because Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is the face of the program.

She realized they were real after their second attempt to contact her. She passed the auditions and later engaged in a one-on-one competition with other women. Charity Witt won the contest and the $100,000 cash prize; she used the cash to build and launch her training facility. She claimed that the competition gave her more self-assurance and helped her make a better professional choice. Charity Witt works as a fitness instructor full-time. During the shutdown, she offered a package for up to $200 that included ebooks for hotel gyms and home workouts at a discounted price.

The package comes with an ebook, a menu plan, access to a closed Facebook group, and a template calculator. Charity must always take her health into account when competing as a result of her decision to forego getting a pacemaker. She admitted to the Gwinnett Daily Post that managing her afib has been difficult, but she has become used to it and is aware of the signs that she should stop lifting. Charity Witt said she was afraid of being overly passionate and letting out too much adrenaline, but competing helped her retain control and concentrate. I did not do anything to prepare myself for this great event.
