On September 18, 2006, Ryan signed a five-album deal with SYCOmusic, a division of Columbia Records. She was the first artist from the United States to sign with SYCOmusic.
She traveled to Los Angeles the same month to record her debut CD. On November 14, 2006, she released her self-titled debut album, which included cover versions of “The Rose” and “I Believe I Can Fly,” as well as original songs like “I Wish That” and “Pray for a Better Day.”
In 2006, she joined several other artists in a televised Christmas performance at the National Building Museum for President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush to benefit the Children’s National Medical Center.
As a special guest artist for Nextfest in 2007, she embarked on her first concert tour across the United States. That August, she released the single “That’s Not Me.”She left SYCOmusic/Columbia Records in 2008 and released her second holiday-themed EP, True Meaning of Christmas, on the indie Music Forever label on November 3, 2009.
This second collection, co-written with Anthony Marinelli and Siedah Garrett, included updated versions of “The Christmas Song” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” as well as a duet on the title track with gospel pop singer Brent Jones.
In 2010, she wrote and recorded “In My Head,” a song inspired by Twilight: New Moon. Similarly, she spent a large portion of her adolescence away from the spotlight.
Similarly, despite having “a couple of stalkers,” she revealed in 2014 that her career had been put on hold due to her dislike of high school. She was mostly ignored by her classmates and never made any friends. Her musical style has also been described as a fusion of neo-soul, R&B, and pop.
She stated in 2017 that she had matured sufficiently and would like to resume acting. Ryan was also interested in makeup and hoped to one day launch her own cosmetics line. Finally, in December 2018, she launched her Ciao Bianca lipstick line, which includes 23 shades. He has not, however, received any awards or been nominated for any.
