Geronimo Pena and his wife, Cecilia Pena, welcomed their son, Jeremy Pena, on 22 September 1997 in Domingo, Dominican Republic. He is now a rising baseball player.
When Jeremy was nine, the Pena family moved to Providence, Rhode Island. Geronimo Pena’s son started playing baseball after attending Classical High School in Providence.
In 2014 when he was in his junior year, the young athlete batted .352 and .390 in his senior years. Following his senior year, the Atlanta Braves selected Jeremy in the 2015 Major League Baseball draft.
However, Geronimo Pena’s son chose the University of Maine to continue his playing career. The Houston Astros selected Jeremys in the 2018 MLB draft (third round).
The former athlete’s son’s professional debut was with the Tri-City Valley of minor league baseball. In November 2021, the Astros added Jeremy to their 40-man ever since Jeremy Pena played for the team.
Geronimo and Cecilia’s son earned the AL 2022 Gold Glove Award and became the first Astros rookie to win the award.
