Over the past 20 years, Alex Chriss has worked for numerous organizations. Due to his extensive expertise, he often holds a prominent position in all of the firms where he has worked. He founded CollegeWeb Inc. in November 1997 before beginning his career as an employee of businesses.

Its founding goal was to provide college students with an online community. Over the next year, the business expanded to new heights before being eventually purchased by Youthstream Media Networks in May 1999. He spent 18 months as the acquired company’s vice president following the acquisition’s success.

In December 2000, he left Youthstream Media Networks to work as the Executive Vice President (Sales & Marketing) for Kronos Advanced Technology. Before beginning his employment with Intuit in July 2004, he worked there for more than three and a half years.

He came on board originally as the group manager. Also, he was in charge of overseeing the business development and channel team for the organization’s QuickBase division in this capacity. He received a promotion to Director and Business Leader of Intuit Partner Platform in Q3 of 2008.

For the following five years, he kept working for the corporation in the same capacity. But in August 2009, his position as Business Leader was eliminated. He joined the Backupify company’s board of directors during this time. After the business was acquired by Datto Inc. over three years later, he resigned from the board.

He held the positions of Vice President and Senior Vice President for 3 1/2 years and 2 years, respectively, before being named the Executive Vice President of the Small Business and Self-Employed Group. He was given the General Manager post while he was an EVP.

Even though he worked for Intuit for more than 19 years, his tenure there came to an end when he was named PayPal’s CEO. Although the announcement was initially publicized in August, he will start on September 27.
