Big Jook, real name Anthony Mims, was the brother of well-known singer Yo Gotti. He was the rapper’s elder brother.
Sadly, Mr. Anthony was shot and killed in front of Hickory Hill’s Peignons Restaurant and Event Center.
His burial attracted a lot of attention, and the church was surrounded by copious amounts of squad vehicles, helicopters, and snipers.
The Memphis Police Department added that since the family had hired a private security detail for the funeral, their presence was necessary to keep an eye on the situation and guarantee public safety.
The community mourned Big Jokk’s passing profoundly, even despite Gotti’s brother’s notoriety, and many understood the common sorrow that comes with losing a loved one.
Police at the time did not identify any suspects in the circumstances surrounding Anthony’s death, and the case is still being investigated.
