Yang Mi made her acting debut at the age of four in the historical drama Tang Ming Huang, before she even realized what acting was.Mi gradually began to appear in tiny roles in films such as King of Beggars (1992) and The Story of a Noble Family.

Similarly, the young actress secured a contract with Li Shaohong’s Rosat Entertainment agency in 2002. Yang Mi rose to prominence in the late 2000s as a result of this.

In 2005, she made her breakthrough as Nie Xiaoqian in the shenmo drama series Strange Tales of Liao Zhai.
