One of the benefits of paying for streaming services is that it's gotten folks accustomed to the fact that if they're directly paying a content provider for their entertainment, then said networks shouldn't be making money off of ad dollars as well.

Since its April 15, 2020, launch, Peacock has amassed a whopping 54 million subscribers as of July 2021. Not bad for a streaming platform that shares a name with one of Katy Perry's songs.
