Nia Vardalos is a Canadian-born American actress, screenwriter, and producer who was born on September 24, 1962, in Winnipeg, Canada.
When she was young, she was given the name Antonia Eugenia Vardalos after her grandmother; however, the actress eventually changed her name to Nia Vardalos. Nia comes from a household that is middle class. At the time, her mother was a stay-at-home mom and her father was a land developer.
Like other children, Nia completed her education, but she had always wanted to be an actress. Before enrolling at Ryerson University, she graduated from Shaftesbury High School. Before breaking into the business, she pursued professional acting training here. Nia was born in Canada but became a citizen of the United States in 1999.
