Even though Halle wasn’t able to make amends with her father before he passed away, it appears that the actress has matured and realized the importance of a father figure in her life. Back in June of this year, Halle took the opportunity of Father’s Day to post a rare snapshot of her father along with a lengthy and heartfelt comment. She penned in,
My heart is overflowing with love for my Daddy on this day dedicated to honoring fathers everywhere. This is one of the only two images I have of him, and it has become a treasured possession in our family. I didn’t have much of a relationship with him when he was here because he was addicted to alcohol, and his addiction prevented us from having the relationship that we were supposed to have.
However, I now realize how much he loved me and how important he was and is to my life, even though I didn’t have much of a relationship with him while he was here.
“I love you, Daddy, and even though I can’t see you right now, I know you’re looking down on me with a smile because I can feel your love!” I want to wish a special #HappyFathersDay to the two amazing dads in my life, Olive and Gabe, as well as to every other father in the world!
