After Ingrid entered the television industry, she married a cameraman named Lothar E. Stickelbrucks in the year 1973. But after two years, the couple got divorced due to some unknown reason. Later in 1979, she decided to marry Peter Koenecke who organized the safari tour in Kenya. But it did not happen.
In August 1992, Ingrid married Tom LaBlanc who is an American Indian of the Dakota tribe. She met him at the World Uranium hearing. Later in October 1995, they got divorced. After that, Steeger fell in love with Bernd and planned their wedding in August 1996.
But for some reason, their marriage got postponed and later the future couple came into a friendship with each other. Their wedding was also canceled. Now, she is single.
