On June 18, 1985, Alex Hirsch, also known as Alexander Robert Hirsch, was born in Piedmont, California. Alex’s twin sister Ariel claims that they are partially Jewish. The opposite is true with his three half-sisters, Jessica, Katrina, and Lauren. He is a citizen of the USA.
When Alex was younger, he went to visit their great-aunt Lois, who lived in a cottage in the woods, along with his sister. This was the inspiration behind his film Gravity Falls. He also asserts that his early liking of the American animated sitcom The Simpsons influenced his writing.
Alex was educated at Piedmont High School, which is also the location of his birth. In 2002, he won the school’s annual Bird Calling Competition. Later, he changed schools and began producing short films at the California Institute of Arts, including Off The Wall. In 2007, Alex graduated from college.
