Johnny Gakpo and Ank Gakpo welcomed their son Cody on May 7, 1999, in Eindhoven, Netherlands.
While his mother is Dutch, his father was born in Togo and has Ghanaian descent. He thus has Dutch nationality and is of Togo-Dutch origin.
According to cfwsports, he was gifted with a sibling called Sidney Gapko and grew up with him.
He has, however, always been a reserved individual who has avoided discussing his family in front of the public and avoided blending his personal and professional lives.
They began playing football since his father had experience playing it. According to the player narrative, Cody and his brother Sydney then joined the EVV Eindhoven academy club to start their football careers.
In 2007, Cody began his young career at the PSV Eindhoven Academy. In 2016, he transferred to the Jong PSV, where he has established himself as a great player.
On August 31, he scored three goals for PSV against Volendam. He also competes internationally for the Netherlands National team.
