Sonia Bonneventia, a businesswoman and former model, is the wife of Matt Booth. The couple is the parents of two kids.
In the early hours of a Saturday morning in 2014, Booth intervened to prevent a woman from being beaten on Cape Town’s Long Street nightlife strip.
Booth participated for Wits in a 1-0 loss against Ajax Cape Town in an Absa Premiership match that was held at Cape Town Stadium the previous Friday night.
He spotted a man attacking a woman and ran to her defense after using an ATM and returning to his friends. When Booth was shoved, she fell onto a store window ledge with spikes to prevent people from sitting on it.
