Samuel suffered two injuries during the game on Saturday. First, he left after the first drive with a head injury from a tackle. He was able to return after being checked out.
However, he later injured his shoulder. Although he briefly went back in the game, the shoulder injury got worse.
Samuel went to the locker room and did not play in the second half. Because of this, he couldn’t play for the rest of the game.
The head injury happened when Samuel was tackled hard. He lay on the field while they checked him. He was able to walk off on his own, and they evaluated him further.
The shoulder injury forced him out later and kept him out of the game after halftime.
In addition to his injuries, during the 2017 season, Tyshun “Deebo” Samuel demonstrated his big play potential for South Carolina, but unfortunately had his year cut short by injury.
In the Gamecocks’ match-up against Kentucky, Samuel made an immediate impact when he caught a 68-yard touchdown pass on the very first play from scrimmage.
However, later in that same contest, he suffered a season-ending leg injury.
