Tony Dungy’s oldest son, James Dungy, was discovered dead in an apartment near Tampa Bay by officials. His girlfriend discovered him about 1:30 a.m. when she returned to the Campus Lodge Apartments. After he stopped breathing, a sheriff’s officer administered CPR before transporting him to University Community Hospital by ambulance. Based on evidence collected at the scene, the sheriff believes the death was suicide.
