Thomas Miller, sometimes known as Tom Verlaine, was an American singer, guitarist, and songwriter. His stage name, Tom Verlaine, is intended to be a nod to Paul Verlaine, a French symbolist poet. In the late 1970s, he began his career as a songwriter. Tom was well recognized as the lead singer of the New York City rock group “Television.”

Despite the band’s lack of widespread fame, rock fans loved them for their insightful lyrics. Two albums were made by the band before it split up. From 1979 until 1992, he issued eight solo albums. He has received four Golden Globe Awards and three Grammy Awards. He was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2006. Tom Verlaine, a rock musician, tragically passes away at age 73 after a brief illness.
