She began her athletic career at the age of 14 and set two records in the summer of 2014, including the 400m hurdle at the national junior level and the 100m hurdle, however she did not qualify for the IAAF World Junior Championships since it was too early for her. Furthermore, in the year 2015, she improved her 400m hurdle skills and ranked second on the list of Leslie’s Maxie’s World Youth. Additionally, in the year 2015, she won a gold medal at the IAAF Championships in Columbia.

She rose to the top of that list in 2016 when she won the New Balance national outdoor high school championships. In 2016, she qualified for the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, and in 2018, she set a record in the NCAA Division 1 Indoor Track and Field Championships. Furthermore, she made her SEC debut when she broke the NCAA 400m hurdles record. She easily advanced farther, reaching the final 400m finals, as expected.
