Suzanne was born in Lansing, Michigan, on December 4, 1966. She is of American nationality because she was born into an American family. She is the daughter of Floyd J. Malveaux and Myrna Maria Ruiz, a former schoolteacher. Her three siblings were her closest companions as she grew up. Suzanne earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology from Harvard College. She graduated from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism with a Master’s degree in journalism in 1991. Broadcasting was her area of expertise.
