After a spectacular decline in his storied NFL career, Sergio Brown, a former star of the New England Patriots, is now incarcerated.
His detention begs the issue of how a player who was once adored and a representative of the legendary Patriots is now facing the most serious accusations. He was taken into custody for the murder of Myrtle Brown, his mother.
She was killed by beatings and disposed of in a stream close to their Maywood, Illinois, family home. Because of his suspected role in her death, he is charged with First-Degree Murder.
The evidence against Sergio Brown will be presented during his trial, and the specifics of his role in his mother’s death remain the subject of a continuing inquiry.
