Rance Howard and Jean Speegle Howard gave birth to Ron Howard Williams on March 1, 1954, in Duncan, Oklahoma. His ancestors are from the Netherlands, Ireland, England, Scotland, and Germany. Ron’s family moved to Hollywood in 1958, but after three years, they relocated to Burbank.
He went to Desilu Studios and subsequently John Burroughs High School to further his education. He then transferred to the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts, where he left out without earning a degree.
