According to murder investigators, the Nassau County Medical Examiners’ Office eventually determined that Carlson’s death was a homicide. Avila will be arraigned on a charge of second-degree murder on Friday, March 3 in Hempstead.
Regarding the death of a woman found on Valentine’s Day in South Hempstead behind trash, an arrest has been made. Andrew Avila, a 25-year-old resident of Elmont, has reportedly been charged with second-degree murder in Rebecca Carlson’s death, according to the police. The 39-year-old Hempstead woman was found in the trash at the auto parts business. Avila will be officially charged on Friday.
