Learn why Phyllis Smith remains a key topic in this detailed write-up.

In “The Workplace,” Phyllis Smith, as Phyllis Lapin, is married to Weave Vance, a fictitious paper distributor (Robert R. Shafer). In the third season, Phyllis marries her long-time beau Sway, and the owner of Vance Refrigeration makes a brief appearance. Phyllis discovered how to make her man notice her by waiting for him at his office for a week.

Despite the fact that Smith got to play Robert’s wife, it appears she was uninterested in communicating the on-screen love behind the screen. Robert’s relationship status was thus confirmed as single. In a chat with Vulture.com, the star reveals about living in a New York City loft with her four cats, where she said:

“Don’t snicker, since I’m not creative with cat names. As dim felines, I have Modest Kid, Minimal Dim — the twins — then I have Sweet Face, who has a lovely face, and Princess, who became a monarch. That’s my four babies. They headed to NYC. When we shot The OA, they all migrated to NYC.”

She added,

“My four cats and two turtles. These are the turtles. I’d say Fast is 65 and Alvin is 15. I’m serious about my family.”

The artist has made felines and turtles her family, as she has not mentioned having a guy as her life partner and family. If she was secretly married, she would have revealed his name to the questioner, but it appears that she is still single, with no dating history or current issues, so wearing a white shroud in the actual arrangement appears to imply that the entertainer is not interested in wearing one in her reality.
