Following a few film roles in the late 1980s and early 1990s, Nicolette began working on television shows. The actress had appearances in two TV shows in 1994: Rebel Highway and L.A. Law. She has starred in television films, including The Ultimate Lie and Girls in Prison.
Another significant break for Scorsese occurred when she was cast in one of her longest-running TV roles—the police procedural drama series NYPD Blue (1995–2000). ABC broadcast the New York City-based project on September 21, 1993.
