Michael James Holmes was born on August 3, 1963, in Halton Hills, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 59. He is Jim and Shirley Holmes’ son.
Mike, the middle child in a humble household, shared a room with his younger brother, while his older sister had her own room.
Mike was fed up with not having his own place and decided to “renovate” his closet into a bedroom – his first building job.
He learnt his trade from Jim, who began teaching him construction work when he was six years old. Mike had founded his own contracting firm with a workforce of 13 by the age of 19.
