Two children were born to Tarek Fatah and his wife, Nargis Tapal. Their daughters’ names are Nazia and Natasha Fatah. His daughters are largely unknown, although Natasha recently trended on Twitter when she made a touching tribute to her father. Canadian journalist, author, and political analyst Tarek Fatah was born in Pakistan.
He was born to a Punjabi Muslim family in Karachi, Pakistan, in November 1949. His family had moved from Bombay to Karachi following the 1947 partition of India. Before deciding to work in the media, Fatah attended the University of Karachi to study biology.
He started his career in 1970 as a reporter for the Karachi Sun before transitioning to Pakistan Television as an investigative journalist. In addition, Tarek contributes to a variety of national and international newspapers, such as the Wall Street Journal, the Toronto Sun, and the National Post. Fatah has drawn criticism and controversy for his outspoken opinions on Islam.
Some claim that Fatah constantly threatened to kill him and incited anti-Muslim and Islamophobic sentiments. While others have praised him for his vehement rejection of Islamic extremism as well as his promotion of secularism and human rights, others have criticized him for his lack of restraint in his criticism.
