After 208 episodes and 208 appearances, Melissa Fumero departed the American soap opera “One Life to Live” in 2011. She made her acting debut in 2004 as Adriana Cramer.
In the 2007 American thriller “Descent,” she played Dorm Girl #2; similarly, in the 2009 American independent comedy “I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell,” she played Melissa; and in the same year, she depicted Ati in the movie “Tiny Dancer” and Jo in the 11-episode online series “Haute & Bothered.”

Her career took off in 2013 when she was cast as Amy Santiago, the main character, in the American police procedural sitcom television series “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” for which she has received three Imagen Award nominations and an NHMC Award.
She has featured in 153 episodes of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” made her directorial debut in 2019 with the season 6 episode “Return of the King,” and will reprise her role as Amy Santiago in the show’s final season, which will debut on August 12, 2021.
Melissa Fumero has voiced “Elena of Avalor,” “Big City Greens,” “She-Ra and the Princesses of Power,” and “M.O.D.O.K.” among the animated series. She has featured in two short films, “Half Empty” and “Stolen Hearts,” and in 2019 she made an appearance on an episode of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions.”
