In January 2020, the top chess grandmaster, Marcus Carlsen, shared a series of snaps on the occasion of New Year, which included a picture with his girl, Elisabet. However, it seems like the couple began dating each other several months before 2020.
According to Chess Base, Magnus Carlsen’s girlfriend, Elisabet, accompanied him to the April 2019 Grenke Chess Classic. Before that event, Carlsen had posted a video on Instagram, captioning it being playful even when he was not playing. Reportedly, he was on vacation with Djønne when he shared the video. As proof that they are dating, Elisabet also had posted a picture of herself with Carlsen visiting a German Zoo on her private Instagram page.
In the past couple of months, Magnus Carlsen has not shared any pictures with his girlfriend, Elisabet, on his social media handles. So, it seems like both of them currently want to maintain the privacy of their romantic relationship. Or, probably, they might be planning to tie their marital knot soon and surprise their well-wishers with the news of their marriage. It looks like soon we will get to see Elisabet as Magnus Carlsen’s wife on his public profiles.
