He was selected for the Eredivisie Team of the Month for March 2021.For the second time, he was selected for the Eredivisie Team of the Month in January 2022.On July 7, 2022, De la Torre is thought to have signed with La Liga team Celta de Vigo.De la Torre represented the United States in the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup as well as the 2015 CONCACAF U-17 Championship.
Luca de la Torre also played for the American under-20 team that won the 2017 CONCACAF U-20 Championship. He scored the game-winning goal against Haiti in the group stage and the penalty kick in the shootout against Honduras in the championship match.He also played for the United States team that went to the quarterfinals of the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup. He scored a goal against Ecuador in the group stage and provided assists on Josh Sargent’s game-winning goal against Senegal and Lagos Kunga’s goal against New Zealand in the Round of 16.
On February 2, 2022, the United States defeated Honduras 3-0 to get to the World Cup, and he received his first start for the team.
