Lorna was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 1996. Even though the treatment was performed, the family was aware of the poor prognosis and was prepared for the worst. After a sixteen-month battle with stage four cancer, she passed away.
In 1998, Lorna passed away at the age of fifty. Her children possessed ages 21, 19, and 16. Jim and Jessica were present when Lorna took her final breath, but Jamie and Leisa were unable to be there. Her family participates in charitable initiatives for pancreatic cancer patients.
