Lee Child, whose real name is James Grant, was born on October 29, 1954, in Coventry, England. He grew up with three brothers, one of whom, Andrew Grant, also became a successful thriller novelist.
Child’s early education took place at Cherry Orchard Primary School and later at King Edward’s School in Birmingham. Despite studying law at the University of Sheffield, he had no intention of pursuing a legal career. Instead, his passion for storytelling and writing led him on a different path.
“I always loved storytelling. It was during my early years that I discovered my fascination with creating characters and weaving narratives. This passion for writing propelled me forward and shaped my entire career,” Child reflects.
