Laura also worked in the cosmetics industry and was fascinated by how make-up could transform someone. She was also able to leverage her knowledge of stage and theater makeup and sell a ‘contour and highlight’ kit to teach others.
She rose to prominence in New York as a makeup artist for Broadway plays. Laura then moved on to work on network television, doing makeup for series on HBO, CBS, the CW, and The Today Show.
Geller opened her makeup studio, Laura Geller Makeup Studio, on Manhattan’s Upper East Side in 1993. Her initial product was the Contour & Highlight Kit. She began selling her cosmetics line on QVC nine years later.
Laura Geller’s Beauty has now become one of the most well-known makeup collections. Her primer, Spackle, has become a fan favorite, and her Baked line of powder cosmetics has also received positive feedback.
