KJ Allen was a Westchester High School student. He was named Los Angeles High School Player of the Year while in high school. KJ didn’t do well in school, despite his outstanding performance on the basketball floor. He graduated from East Los Angeles College with a 2.2 GPA (ELAC).
However, a passion for basketball runs through his veins. KJ began playing basketball when he was three years old, thanks to a father who possessed exceptional talents in the sport. He hasn’t stopped since. Though he had the ability as a player to get into some of the best basketball schools in the country, his academics kept him from getting into Division I programs.
KJ, on the other hand, improved his schooling, and in November 2020, he orally committed to the University of Southern California, even though he will graduate in 2022. KJ will be a part of the team’s 2021-2022 roster.
Jason Hart approached KJ about entering USC. Before that, the Washington State Cougars, TCU Horned Frogs, Oregon State Beavers, SMU Mustangs, Loyola Marymount Lions, New Mexico State Aggies, and a few other schools offered him a scholarship.
In terms of KJ’s numbers, he averaged 18.5 points on 68.9% shooting and 9.3 rebounds for a 29-1 ELAC squad last season. He joined Malik Thomas, Reese Dixon, Harrison Hornery, and Kobe Johnson in committing to USC.
