She was born to her hardworking mother and father in New York City, United States. Katrina is the daughter of Jean Stein a Jew and William vanden Heuvel, a Dutch. Her mother was an heiress, best-selling author, and editor of the literary journal Grand Street while her father is an attorney, former US ambassador, member of John F. Kennedy’s administration, businessman, and author.
Katrina grew up with one sister and two step-siblings. Further, her maternal grandparents Jules C. Stein and Doris Babbette Jones were Music Corporation of America’s founders.
