On February 8, 1989, Queen Marvin gave birth to Quintorris Lopez Jones, also known as Julio Jones, in Foley, Alabama. His father abandoned him when he was five years old, and she raised him as a single mother. Julio went to Foley High School in Foley, Alabama, where he played wide receiver and defensive end for the Lions High School boys’ football team in his senior year.
Jones then committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide men’s football team at the University of Alabama. He was an excellent basketball player in high school as well. Julio was also a talented sprinter who competed in numerous state-level contests. He is African-American and a proud American citizen.
