During the Korean War, Jerry Sheindlin served in the United States Army. He later served as an associate justice on the New York State Supreme Court until 1999, when he retired. Jerry appeared on the TV show The People’s Court from 1999 to 2000.

He was back for the 2000-2001 season. In addition, Jerry appeared as Judge in Erroneous Convictions (2012), as himself in Entertainment Tonight (2013), and as himself in Biography (2000).
