Jennifer Coolidge is the actress, who is having a resurgence thanks to her performance in Mike White‘s thriller The White Lotus, earned best actress in a supporting role for her work in the HBO show as the ill-fated Tanya McQuoid.
For decades, cinema and television fans have known Coolidge for iconic roles in films such as Legally Blonde, A Cinderella Story, and the American Pie franchise, as well as guest appearances on shows such as Sex and the City and Friends.

Coolidge, 61, thanked White for giving her a “fresh beginning” in her poignant and amusing acceptance speech at the 80th Golden Globes, which were hosted by comedian Jerrod Carmichael.
“I was never invited to one party on my hill, and now everyone’s inviting me!” She Said.
Her address was well received by the renowned faces in the audience, with cameras capturing Margot Robbie, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Daisy Edgar-Jones beaming and laughing as she spoke.
While Coolidge was talking about him, the camera zoomed in on White, who portrayed Mr Schneebly in School of Rock and authored the screenplay for the 2003 film.
Later that night, White ascended the stage to accept the Golden Globe for best limited series for The White Lotus, which has been extended for a third season.
The actor, producer, and director delivered his own barnstorming address, pointing out that many celebrities and prominent executives in the crowd had neglected the HBO smash.
He exclaimed as he pointed to the laughing attendees: “I know you all got through! You all skipped this show! So, absolutely, having this moment is incredibly satisfying.”
