President and CEO of Kemira Jari Rosendal has passed away. On July 31, 2023, Jari Rosendal, the long-serving President and CEO of Kemira, passed away following a brief illness.
Since 2014, Jari Rosendal had been Kemira’s president and chief executive officer. He was a member of the Neste Oyj, Finnish Chemical Association, and European Chemical Industry Council Cefic boards of directors.
He had a protracted career in the mining sector before joining Kemira. The Board of Directors, management, and staff at Kemira send Jari’s family their sincere condolences.
Jari was a manager whose first priority was consistently the security and well-being of workers.
Kemira’s profitability increased dramatically under his direction, and the strategic emphasis moved to profitable, long-term expansion. Jari will be sorely missed by coworkers everywhere.
On July 18, 2023, Kemira made a statement stating that Rosendal and the company’s board of directors had reached an understanding that Rosendal will step down no later than 2024 and that the board would launch a search for his replacement.
Up until the next president and CEO assumes his duties, CFO Petri Castrén will serve as interim president and CEO.
