As previously said, she began working in the film industry at the age of four. Dawn made her debut as a child artist as an American Indian boy in the 1967 western film Cry Blood, Apache.

Following her debut, she played Prudence Everett in the pilot for Nanny and the Professor, however she dropped out of her contract for unknown reasons. Following that, she starred as Dodie Douglas in the family comedy TV series My Three Sons. She grew to stardom with her character Dodie, and her presence on television increased significantly.

Lyn later appeared in TV episodes such as Gunsmoke, Adam-12, Emergency!, Marcus Welby, and many more. She was then cast in a major motion picture. Her filmography includes Shoot Out, the Walking Tall series, The Exorcist, Devil Times Five, and many others. Her final assignment as an actor was in the episode ‘My Teenage Idol is Missing in the Superhero’ of the TV series Wonder Woman in 1978.
