Fresno County District Attorney Lisa Smittcamp said that Scott Anderson is facing several federal charges, including using pipe bombs on vehicles and possessing illegal firearms.
The 44-year-old is charged with seven counts of detonating an explosive device damaging property.
Moreover, Anderson is charged with three counts of exploding a harmful device, one count of attempting to explode a harmful device, and possessing material to make a destructive device.
Authorities seized 11 illegal firearms and hundreds of ammunition after serving search warrants in three locations.
They also found $50,000 in cash and almost 90 grams of packaged methamphetamine ready for sale.
Police also discovered flags, clothing, cups, signs, banners, and patches featuring Nazi paraphernalia during the investigation of the 44-year-old.
The motives behind the bombings have not been identified, nor is it clear whether Anderson’s connection to a white supremacist group was a factor in the attacks.
Whether the motivation was a hate crime or racial prejudice is yet to be determined.
The involvement of the other four people arrested also remains to be determined.
