Grant Shapiro was born as the youngest son to his father and mother. Before him, his parents welcomed his elder brother, Brent Shapiro, on 7 November 1980. In a live interview with Larry King, the youngest Shapiro described his brother as the best brother anybody could ask for.
As mentioned above, Brent died in 2005 after battling drug and alcohol addiction. Grant revealed that his elder sibling’s death was very shocking to him. He could not feel anything but unbearable pain and emptiness. The Shapiro family still misses Brent. Even so, they are moving forward as they didn’t choose to suffer but to help other youth with the same problem as their son and brother.
