According to sources, Masvidal, who had just suffered a defeat to Colby Covington at UFC 272, was reportedly accused of assaulting Covington on March 22, 2022.
Covington is accused of having one of his teeth broken and his wrist injured after Masvidal allegedly rushed up on him as he was leaving a restaurant and struck him twice.
Masvidal was arrested and charged with one count of criminal mischief and aggravated battery resulting in great bodily harm the day following the event.
Miami County Police detained Masvidal in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Facility, released them on a $15,000 bond, and then arrested them again.
Masvidal’s arraignment was scheduled on April 21, 2022. However, he eventually pleaded not guilty to the charges.
