David Montgomery has faced multiple injuries and setbacks in his football career. He has had 4 major injuries in his professional career.
The first was an ankle injury he faced during the 11th week of the 2019 season. Next, he incurred a groin injury during the training camp practice. He recovered and was suited for the season opener.
It was not a lucky season for him as he had to undergo a concussion during the 10th-week loss to the Titans. Again, in 2021, David suffered a left knee injury in Week 4’s game against the Lions. He was then placed in the IR.
Before NFL, David bore an upper arm injury in a game against TCU. He returned after missing one game with no setback.
Besides, he is highly conscious of the importance of mental health.
On August 3, during a regularly scheduled media availability after practice, he opened up about the mental health struggles he has experienced over the years.
David said that football players and athletes are also human, after all. The 25-year-old also expressed thankfulness for the understanding and support he got.
The 5 feet 11 inch and 224 pounds athlete has recorded 148 rushing yards and 38 receiving yards this season.
