David DePape was booked in San Francisco County Jail. In addition to the burglary, assault, and elder abuse charges, he has also been charged with intimidating a family member of a public official, preventing a witness from reporting a crime, and attempted murder (homicide).
The assailant is being held without bail.
Furthermore, the motive for the attack is still unknown. As per many reports, David shouted, “Where is Nancy” when he entered the House. Nancy was reportedly in Washinton DC, at the time of the attack.
