Adjoa Andoh spoke about her personal experience with dyspraxia during a Loose Women interview. She revealed that she was diagnosed as an adult, but her eldest daughter was diagnosed first.
While attending nursery school in the 1980s, her daughter was tested by a young woman conducting a Ph.D. in occupational therapy.
The test revealed that her daughter had dyspraxia and was out of the charts regarding severity.
Dyspraxia is a developmental coordination disorder that affects movement and coordination and can impact people’s coordination skills with tasks such as balance, sports, or learning to drive.
Andoh shared that she was often left out during school sports team picks because everyone knew she was hopeless, and dyspraxia affected her ability to play sports and dance.
Despite her diagnosis, Andoh continues to excel in her career as an actress and is living a great life with her family.
Andoh is not currently affected by other health conditions and has continued actively involved in new projects. She has not allowed any health issues to interfere with her career.
In 2023, she was involved in The Real Crown: Inside the House of Windsor in a voice role and Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, which has gained a lot of appreciation.
